Planning before deployment
Military and civilian planners met near Tbilisi on October 19–23 to prepare Agile Spirit 2027, the Army reported October 26. Participants from the United States, Georgia and other partner nations worked on objectives, resources and the framework for the exercise.
Site surveys examined training infrastructure, ranges, support needs and command-and-control arrangements. The Army also described a process for exchanging lessons on electronic warfare and unmanned aircraft.
A future exercise
The reporting concerns an initial planning conference. Agile Spirit 2027 is scheduled for mid-2027; this edition does not present it as a completed field exercise or announce final force numbers.
Our assessment: agreeing on communications and sustainment early gives partners a better basis for testing how their units work together. The next planning stages still need to confirm contributions and support arrangements. A shared calendar is the beginning of that coordination, rather than evidence that every operational question has been resolved.
